MÖTLEY CRÜE, SLIPKNOT Videos Could Be Reclassified With Age Ratings In U.K.

MÖTLEY CRÜE's "Greatest Video Hits" and SLIPKNOT's "Ten Year Anniversary" are among the violent and "extreme music videos" that would be reclassified with age ratings in the United Kingdom if a proposed law change by London Labour MP Andrew Dismore is accepted in parliament this week.

According to Spinner.com, Dismore, MP for Hendon, wants a loophole in the Video Recordings Act 1984 closed — currently music, sport and religious DVDs are exempt from age classification.

Speaking to the Daily Telegraph on Monday (January 11),Dismore explained why he wants the law to change: "What's happening is that responsible video companies and distributors will get age rating for 15 or 18 releases, but some others will not. Many of these would probably be 15."

MÖTLEY CRÜE's "Greatest Video Hits" is a music video featuring topless lap dancing.

SLIPKNOT's "Ten Year Anniversary" DVD contains images of the aftermath of self-mutilation carried out by two teenage girls who have carved the name SLIPKNOT into their arm and torso, respectively.
